Platform

As your council member, my priority will be to unify our district by advocating for the needs of all constituents and helping our community reach its full potential. I commit to approaching this work with three guiding principles: accessible leadership, resource and knowledge sharing, and innovative problem solving.

Accessible Leadership 

Every person in the 1st District deserves a leader who is available, engaged, and fighting for their interests. I will be:

• A dedicated leader who commits to serving the constituents of the 1st District on a full time basis 
• Committed to being an attentive and responsive leader 
• Attend neighborhood meetings, community events and other gatherings upon request
• Maintain an open door policy and ensure multiple ways for constituents to contact my office directly 
• Actively listen to all concerns with an open mind while setting a clear vision 

Resource and Knowledge Sharing 

When constituents have access to information and resources, they can thrive. I will work to:

• Host regular update forums to keep constituents informed on issues and opportunities
• Communicate through various social media platforms, newsletters and outreach initiatives
• Establish relationships and partnerships that benefit our community through programming and resource sharing
• Create initiatives and programs that directly provide resources for 1st district constituents
• Ensure constituents are educated about processes and procedures of our local government 

Innovative Problem Solving 

No challenge is too big if we tackle it head on. I will:

• Research and implement best practices and innovative initiatives to find effective solutions that improve the lives of our constituents.
• Foster strong relationships and partnerships across communities by developing social capital, engaging with all community members, and collaborating with stakeholders creating a more united and empowered community where we can solve problems together.
• Work to build coalitions and create consensus among Council Members and the administration in order to promote funding opportunities and legislation needed to address challenges in our district.
